Overview of the suggested Tanzania safari lodges and activities:
This 9-night trip is a luxury safari that focuses on offering some of the best wildlife sightings you could witness in Northern Tanzania. Once you have settled after your journey, with one night in Rivertrees Country Inn at Arusha, you’ll head out on your safari. First up is Kuro Tarangire, a tented camp in the centre of the scenic national park Tarangire. Afterwards, you’ll stay at Entamanu Ngorongoro, which has a fabulous location on the rim of the world-famous Crater! Serengeti Safari Camp is next. This is the oldest and one of the finest mobile properties that follows the Great Migration, moving between several sites to keep up with the herds.
Kuro offers expertly guided game drives, night drives, and bush walks. Entamanu’s activity list includes vehicle safaris in the Ngorongoro Crater, as well as highlands walks and cultural experiences with the Maasai. Once you’re at Serengeti Safari Camp, your focus will be following the Great Migration herds on game drives!
Who is this Tanzania trip for?
This trip has been designed and priced with couples and honeymooners in mind (two adults travelling together). However, every trip we create is tailor-made for you. If you’re a group or a family, we might even suggest different accommodation. We can move elements and change the number of days – it all depends entirely on what you would like.
Days 1–2 ARUSHA
On arrival into Tanzania, you’ll spend the first night in Arusha, a great stopover before you head to the Northern Circuit national parks. We’ve suggested staying at Rivertrees Country Inn, a comfortable and characterful lodge with a good location on the Usa river. It has all the amenities needed for a short stay, and you’ll be very comfortable in one of the Garden Rooms. There’s a swimming pool, a massage banda, a restaurant, and a bar to make use of, but please note that this is on a B&B accommodation basis.
Days 2–4 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After a restful night, you’ll leave Arusha and fly to Tarangire National Park. Here, you’ll spend two nights at Nomad’s Kuro Tarangire, a property with a gorgeous setting amidst trees on the banks of the river. The lodge is all wood and thatch, with open sides and views out into the park. You’ll stay in one of six classic safari tents, and spend your days on game drives and walking safaris. Wildlife in Tarangire includes big prides of lion and huge herds of buffalo, but most importantly, if you visit between July and October, you’ll be in the best position to witness large herds of elephant, when immense concentrations of the grey giants move across the area together in search for water.
Days 4–6 NGORONGORO CRATER
From Tarangire, you will fly to Lake Manyara Airport and stay at Entamanu Ngorongoro. With one of the best positions on the Ngorongoro Crater rim, Entamanu is a superb blend of authentic luxury, high guiding standards, and classic safari activities – we love the vibe of this Nomad camp! The camp has tented suites, all with heating for those chilly highland temperatures and crater views. Over the two nights here, you can head down into the Crater for some seriously good game drives featuring the Big Five and many other mammals! You can also enjoy guided walks up on the highlands around the Crater rim. Interactions with the local Maasai are available too, for those who like to add a little culture to the mix
Days 6–10 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Following your stay at the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll fly to the Serengeti for four nights at Serengeti Safari Camp, another great Nomad Tanzania property. This is one of the oldest mobile camps in the park, and we reckon it’s one of the most adventurous too! It moves hundreds of miles every year to make sure that guests are treated to the most thrilling sights of the Great Migration. You are guaranteed a front-row seat for watching one of Mother Nature’s finest shows during the twice-daily game drives.
